Hi everyone!
This is gonna be a brief update on how things were going until now. I really would like to make more detailed posts, but there is just so much awesome stuff happening every day, that I don’t have enough time to write it all down.
What happened since Poznan:
- We stayed in Warsaw for two nights in a 10-bed-dorm in a youth hostel
- Kayo cheated and hitchhiked by train
- Shane, Betka and Andi arrived and completed the group
- We found an unusually large switch at the front door of our hostel which shuts off the entire electricity of the whole building :D
- Charlotte left the group in Warsaw to start an internship in Amsterdam
- Kübra unexpectedly decided to join our amazing adventure for longer
- Kayo got bitten by approximately 156382 bed bugs so we all received a free breakfast and laundry
- The group split up after Warsaw. Eline, Kübra and Luuk stay longer in Warsaw and the rest of us stayed with different hosts or camped at a nice lake in the north of Poland
- Me and Kayo got a lift from a lithuanian truck driver. At the border to Lithuania I had to hide, because having more than 2 people in the truck is illegal.
- We learned how to make traditional lithuanian garlic bread: fry the bread... Put garlic on it.
- We celebrated international beer day
- We met an old man at the bus station in Kaunas and he explained us in Lithuanian language how to get to the best hitchhiking spot. Finally, he took the same bus and brought us directly to the spot, walking through a little forest. It was funny because we didn’t understand anything he was saying and were not sure if we were really supposed to follow him.
- We also had a ride from a Latvian guy with a Porsche Carrera
- I lost my USB cable so there will be no more pictures from my camera in this blog :(
We are now in Riga and will stay tonight with our nice host Martins. Tomorrow we will finally reunite with the whole group again. We are all looking forward to camp at the sea side soon!!
I hope you guys have as much fun as we do!
Phil
